Nucleosynthesis in primordial stars, paving the route to SKA

Giovedì 5 novembre alle ore 15:00, il Dott. Mario Cirillo dell’INAF-OAAb/Univ. Roma Tor Vergata, terrà il web-seminar dal titolo: Nucleosynthesis in primordial stars, paving the route to SKA.

Abstract

The Square Kilometer Array (SKA) will be the new frontier for radio astronomy. Among its main scientific goals, the SKA will reach the epoch of Dark Ages, focusing on the formation of the first stars and galaxies, which are thought to be the main responsible for the Reionization of the Universe. The first generation of stars, also known as Population III stars, are of outstanding importance for the chemical evolution of the Universe. One of the main uncertainties about Population III stars is their mass. My research will focus on zero-metals and extremely metal-poor intermediate mass stars and their nucleosynthesis. During my talk I will present some aspects of the work in progress, with preliminary results and the perspectives for the future.
