The interconnection between multi-mass dynamical models and multiple populations in Globular Clusters

Giovedì 16 febbraio alle ore 15:00, il Dott. Matteo Teodori dell’Università Vanvitelli di Caserta, terrà il web-seminar dal titolo “The interconnection between multi-mass dynamical models and multiple populations in Globular Clusters.

Abstract

The discovery of multiple stellar populations (MPs) in Globular Clusters (GCs) has raised a lot of important questions about the formation and evolution of these systems. We are still away from understanding the interplay between stellar evolution and dynamical evolution in multi-mass systems. Effects like evaporation, segregation, equipartition, virialization and BHs retention modify GCs internal behaviour and can affect the formation and evolution of the so-called “second generation” of stars.
I will firstly discuss our multi-mass collisional model and the effect of the mass function in their stability. Then, I will present some recent and interesting works concerning GCs evolution, MPs and how we can use and test our model.
