The Milky Way assembly tale as told by its stars and globular clusters

Giovedì 18 novembre alle ore 15:00, il Dr. Davide Massari dell’INAF-OAS Bologna, terrà il web-seminar dal titolo: The Milky Way assembly tale as told by its stars and globular clusters.

Abstract

The combination of stellar proper motions measured by the Gaia mission with spectroscopic radial velocities has recently enabled the precise determination of the orbits of Milky Way Halo stars and globular clusters. This novel window on their dynamics, coupled with existing chemical information, has allowed us to unravel many unknowns on their formation and evolution, as well as on the assembly history of the Milky Way itself. In this talk I will present the most recent results on this topic, focusing on what dynamics taught us about stars, globular clusters and dwarf galaxies orbiting our Galaxy (now or in the past).

Web-seminar ad accesso riservato.
